About Amici Cantanes
Amici Cantanes (lat. the singing friends) is a medieval- and renaissance choir from Malmö in Sweden.
We are also members of a medieval society.
The choir was formed about ten years ago. In the beginning we only
entertained at private parties, but since then a lot has happened, and today Amici Cantantes
does all kinds of concerts and appearances, from church services to medieval fairs and parties.
Our largest common interest is Early Music, from the European Middle Ages and Renaissance, about
the year 1050 to 1599. When we perform we always wear medieval and/or renaissance costume, depending on what is appropriate for the
occasion, since we think they are important for the overall concert experience - our clothes are not just "theatre-costumes", but faithful copies of medieval- and renaissance clothing.
